REGISTRATION FOR SPRING 2026 WILL BEGIN ON (OR AROUND) NOVEMBER 1, 2025. YOU CAN FIND YOUR REGISTRATION DATE ON YOUR CUNY FIRST ACCOUNT. 

Every semester, CSI puts a hold on your registration for the following semester, which only a Literature or Writing advisor can remove. This is to encourage you to come to us for advice, regarding which courses you should register for.

We are pleased to advise you on these and other matters!

In order to most effectively advise you, we ask that before making an appointment with us, you read the relevant tabs above in order to carefully prepare your own registration plan.

FOR MAJORS WHO DECLARED BEFORE FALL 2026:

FOR MAJORS DECLARING FALL 2026 OR LATER, look under the “For the Future” tab:

• The Literature Concentration tab tells you exactly what you will need to take in order to fulfill the requirements for a concentration in Literature
• The Writing Concentration tab tells you exactly what you need to take in order to fulfill the requirements for a concentration in Writing
• The Dramatic Literature Concentration tab tells you exactly what you need to take in order to fulfill the requirements for a concentration in Dramatic Literature

Only once you have read through all of these materials may you contact your advisor for an appointment to have your hold on your registration removed. In your email to your advisor, you must explicitly state the following:

• what is your EmplID and what are all your Majors/Minors, and

• what you plan on taking and why, and
  

• how many more classes you need in order to graduate (and which ones), once that plan is realized
